Soft pastels are the perfect antidote to dark and dull wardrobes. Learn to soften your look.

Yes we all love black, but with summer approaching it’s time to soften your look. Soft pastels are the perfect antidote to any dark or dull wardrobe. Georgia from the Wellington Concept store shares her favourite pastel pieces.

Although I’m always seen wearing black, grey black or black on black, pink is actually my favourite colour. However I’ve never felt brave enough to wear it. Pastels are a great introduction to a hint of colour for summer. Add a rose pastel knit to your black and white jean ensemble and throw on a solid BORALI matt rose gold cuff and you’ve hit the sweet spot. Not too much colour, but a small nod to the warmer weather. When I’m feeling girly, I love to add a hint of pearls. They are perfect for any occasion and make a style statement. The PRIA bracelet is my new go-to. It’s a fun modern take on the classic pearl style and looks ultra chic when stacked with one or two other crystal tennis and solid enamel bracelets - try JOVIKA RG CREME.

Blue worn with tan is a match made in heaven. Modernise your style by mixing textures and stones. Wear the GLAZE pearl necklace with the TERESIA crystal tennis bracelet. It’s important to keep it fresh and not too “matchy matchy”.  Baby blue is not normally my nail polish colour of choice, but when I wore it, I loved it AND received so many more compliments than my standard red or nude nail getup.  P.S Faby Nail Lacquer is the best polish to apply in a hurry, you can’t mess it up. Salon quality in ten minutes, yes please!

If you’re not brave enough to wear pastel threads, opt for pastel accessories and jewellery. A shimmering rose gold nail polish (my favourite is Mecca Cosmetica’s Volumnia) paired with a matt rose earring LIA mixed with peachy shades and matched with a cute statement blush heel. Best worn with white and denim. All you need now is a glass of Frosé and you’re set for fun in the sun.

Cool off with soft blue hues. Out of all my jewellery, the BORALI cuff is still my number one. If I’m honest, I have this cuff in every colour and you should too. It’s not ridiculous because all three colours stacked and worn together create a phenomenal statement - but hey, that’s a whole new blog topic! Back to the blues; best worn with jeans for a casual 9-5 feel. Dress it up by adding in a crystal bangle or bracelet and a pair of kick ass earrings.
